Birth certificates are among the most frequently requested documents for immigration, passport applications, school enrollment, and dual citizenship. BeTranslated provides certified translations of birth certificates from over 50 languages, with a signed Certificate of Accuracy included as standard.
Government agencies, courts, and educational institutions require that foreign-language birth certificates be translated by a competent translator who attests to the accuracy and completeness of the translation in writing. USCIS specifies that neither the applicant nor an immediate family member may translate their own documents. A translation without a formal Certificate of Accuracy will be rejected. BeTranslated's certified translations meet the requirements of USCIS, the US Department of State, Social Security Administration, state vital records offices, and international authorities.
Our translators work into English from Spanish, Mandarin Chinese, Portuguese, Russian, Arabic, French, Vietnamese, Tagalog, Korean, and over 40 other source languages. Every birth certificate translation is reviewed by a second linguist before delivery. We translate the full document, including any marginalia, stamps, seals, and handwritten notations, so the certified translation is a complete and faithful rendering of the original.
Green card, citizenship, and visa applicants who must submit foreign birth certificates to USCIS or US embassies as part of their case.
Americans born in another country who need a certified translation of their foreign birth certificate for a US passport application, Social Security enrollment, or state ID.
Families completing domestic or international adoptions who need the child's original birth certificate translated for court proceedings, citizenship applications, and school enrollment.
Individuals applying for citizenship in a second country who must provide a certified translation of their birth certificate to the relevant consulate or national registry.
Upload a clear scan or high-resolution photo of your birth certificate through our secure portal. We accept copies in any format and can work from photographs taken on a smartphone.
Your document is assigned to a translator who is a native speaker of the source language and has experience translating vital records for immigration and legal purposes.
The translator renders the complete document in English, including all fields, stamps, notary text, and marginalia. A second linguist reviews the translation for accuracy before sign-off.
You receive a PDF of the certified translation with a signed Certificate of Accuracy on company letterhead. Hard copies with wet signatures can be shipped by courier for agencies that require physical documents.

Yes. Our translations include a signed Certificate of Accuracy that meets USCIS requirements under 8 CFR 103.2(b)(3). The certificate states that the translator is competent in both the source and target languages and that the translation is accurate and complete. We have produced USCIS-accepted translations from Spanish, Chinese, Portuguese, Arabic, Russian, Vietnamese, Tagalog, Korean, and dozens of other languages.
Most birth certificates are one to two pages and are completed within 24 hours. Same-day service is available for urgent immigration deadlines when orders are placed before noon. If your case has a specific filing date, let us know when you request a quote.
Not for most purposes. USCIS, the State Department, and most educational institutions require a certified translation but not notarization. Notarization adds a notary public's authentication of the translator's signature and is sometimes required by state courts or local government offices. We offer notarization as an add-on service if your receiving authority specifically requires it.
